Registration for this workshop opens on Wednesday, March 26th at 9 am.
Join us for a full day of wild weaving with red osier dogwood and other local plant neighbours!
Participants will work toward creating a small round basket. We will learn weaving principles and techniques along the way, such as creating a round base, building the sides with a three-rod and English rand, and finishing with a border. While crafting together we will also learn about dogwood and the local ecology along the Eramosa river.
Session price: $95 +HST. If cost is a barrier, please see our Economics for a Changing World page for sliding-scale and mutual aid options.
Accessibility note: While this workshop welcomes weavers of all experience levels, please note that this craft is a peaceful but repetitive process that asks a lot of our hands. Some folks who hold tension in their hands may find the craft challenging and many find themselves a bit sore after weaving all day.
