GOS games always feature a dash of naturalist knowledge, wondering, and visualization. Through games we connect with ourselves, others, and the natural world.
The Day:
* opening circle where everyone is made welcome and seen
* warm -up games to get us into our bodies, out of our academic heads, fully aware and alive - and then MORE games and Nature Based Challenges that teach, inspire, and thrill.
* snacks and lunch around the fire for stories and skills
* a time for timelessness: getting out and about, following instincts on the adventure trail
* closing circle and story of the day support kids in making sense of their time, sharing about the big moments
Expect
* great ratios (5 students / instructor), and small groups limited to 15
* mentorship to support kids in pursuing their passion, interest, & curiosities
* Professional adult instructors who do this for a living
* Lots of stories on the way home
Games That Teach is a classic GOS PD Session.
Games out in the woods designed to get kids out of their academic heads and into their bodies! Run, sneak, listen, scan, hide, strategize, and move like the animals of the woods. A combo of friendly competition, group co-operation, and adventure games like find the porcupine.
